Size: Lightweight and compact

You’ll want to consider how much laundry you do at one time and how many items you’re looking to air dry simultaneously. This size rack is perfect for our household because we always wash our clothes separately to prevent any mixups. We tend to wash small loads throughout the week rather than one big load. If you have a large family and prefer to throw everyone’s clothes in together, this drying rack would likely be too small for you. However, you could always buy two. Since the rack is so compact, we left it out in our bathroom for several days. The weather was unseasonably warm and we had a lot more delicate items to wash than we normally would at this time of year. We hand-washed some of these garments in the sink and even after wringing them out, they were still pretty wet. Rather than letting them drip on the bathroom floor, we realized we could fit the drying rack right into our shower—a major convenience.

Design: Ideal for smaller jobs

This rack is intended for small- to medium-sized loads of laundry. There are 11 arms on the rack, each measuring 14.5 inches long. Four of those arms are situated horizontally at the top of the rack, which serves as a good place to lay clothing out flat. Unless you’re hanging up small items like lingerie, socks, or children’s clothing, you probably wouldn’t be able to fit more than one article of clothing on each arm. It’s important to spread out clothing in order to dry it thoroughly and prevent wrinkling. We would say the rack can accommodate about eight to ten full-sized articles of clothing. There is plenty of room for small items like lingerie and socks, too.

Performance: Impressive overall

The first load of laundry we hung on this rack was fairly small. It consisted of three lightweight nightgowns and five pairs of socks. We put a bathrobe on the rack as well. We would normally put the robe in the dryer, but we wanted to see how well the rack held up to heavier items. The rack remained stable and all of the items fit without touching one another. Later that day, we added a few more heavier items to the rack—a pair of jeans and a fleece sweatshirt—and the rack remained standing sturdy. In total, the rack is supposed to hold up to 32 pounds of laundry at once, which we found more than sufficient for our needs. We did have to rearrange some items to accommodate the additional clothing. Once more pieces were added to the rack, we noticed some of the clothing was touching. This seems to be the downside of having a compact rack with multiple tiers—it’s difficult to stagger garments and keep them separated. Longer shirts and pants graze the tiers below them. Although the rack is somewhat limited in terms of storage capacity, it’s perfect for smaller-sized loads.
